Background

Building things has always been a passion of mine. My earliest recollection as a child is constructing tiny mud houses complete with sticks for rafters. As I have grown older, satisfaction has come not from being able to rapidly produce something over and over again, but instead it has come from tackling a new project that involves techniques I have not used before. In other words, figuring out how to do something in a new and different way is as satisfying to me as the actual completion of a project.

Varying the genre of the projects has also helped to maintain my interest in the creative process. That is why my work varies from home remodeling to theatrical sets to stained glass to painting to furniture construction. Moreover, having lived for many years in Japan, much of my work reflects an Oriental theme. I hope you find my work interesting.
